Has anyone else any experience of this? Got back to my car this morning and found a parking ticket stuck to it. I was really surprised because I thought the sea front car park I was parked in was free out of season ... it certainly always used to be and there's nothing to say that's changed. Looked more closely and the ticket wasn't even issued to my car ... it has a completely different make, reg. no., tax disc no. and tax expiry on it. I don't even know whether I should now be paying to park there and the enforcement officer made a mistake with the ticket. or whether some blighter has stuck their ticket on my car. Obviously this ticket is invalid for my car but maybe there's another one out there that is valid ... no idea if that would be enforcable though. Seething

What a strange occurance...I reckon someone got a ticket else where and decided to dump it on to your car - send it to the address on it and explain see what they say

Letter already written  Just concerned that two tickets were issued and placed on the wrong cars and I'll be pursued for a notice I haven't seen. The location is right and my car was parked there when the notice was issued, but every other detail is wrong, starting with I drive a Corolla and the ticket is for a Seat with a completely different registration (w00t)

All you can do is explain, and you never know they might be able to sort it out...the right hand just might know what the left hand is doing...but don't hold your breath (w00t)

i would call up the council, (or who ever it is who issued the ticket) find out if the car park is free and if you should have a ticket first, then explain about the other ticket.

dont know how it works down south but the traffic wardens up here do all the tickets on one of those hand held electronic thingys and it prints it out, where they are then suppose to stick it to the car and take photos of the car, so you can only do one at a time. Unless the warden held on to the first ticket while issuing the next one i can believe its been mixed up with another car.

I would say its more likely some on has ditched it on to your car. hope you get it sorted soon

Hopefully it belongs to someone else (with a Seat) who had a hissy fit and disposed of it by sticking it on your car, in which case the "powers that be" will pursue them for payment via their registration details

Strange how some folk think they can avoid being caught by disposing of the ticket :-

Hopefully it isn't a situation where they issued another ticket for you and stuck it on the Seat

Why worry then if its a totaly difrent car ? The owner of the reg on the ticket is getting the fine no matter were the ticket is stuck surely ?

I'm just worried that I got a ticket too and some bright spark has swopped them.

If they swapped them, surely they would be without a ticket too :teehee:

So therefore wouldnt be able to pay theirs.

More likely someone took it off there car, and dumped it on yours. You proberly havent got one

yes i have had this done to me ,my car was parked outside my mums and when i came out there was a police parking ticket on the windscreen, which i thought was funny as ,my mums house was in a side street no double yellow lines ,when i looked closer i could see it had been issued in Manchester and of course it didnt belong to my car,any way at the time my brother was a police officer and he dealt with it :- so the person got into more trouble for removing it from their car (w00t)

someone stuck their 'warning' on our van in a hospital car park once-

if it doesn't appertain to you-simply dump it.......deal with the next problem should it arise...... ;)
