Has anyone had a bad reaction from there dogs when giving them panacur wormer. We did the pups last wed. and Thurs. and by sat and Sunday the were ill. They wouldn't eat and have lost loads of weight. We took them to the vet Monday and the vet said it could be a virus that took advantage of me worming them. 2 injections for each pup and some tablets and penicillin and 3 of the pups have picked up even seem to be putting a little weight back on. Mia is the only one still not eating so we have brought her into the house to give her 1 on 1 treatment. We've heard from a few people about pups been bad after worming just wondered if anyone else has had this.

Hi, just caught a glimpse of your post.

We wormed our pups last year with the panacur worming syrup and they were all ill from it, 2 of the pups in particular didnt pick up for going on a week, they were all off their food and had very bad diarreoaha (cant spell it!!) and bad bellies, not good at all. the next time we wormed them I gave them all drontal and not one of them had a bad tummy!! I wouldnt use the panacur again!

Thats exactly what our pup's have been like. 2 of the pups were going to their new home's this weekend but their tablets don't finish till monday so will be staying on a bit longer.

that sounds awful Sharon :( Just wormed Georges pup with Panacur for the 3rd time since we've had him.Glad to say he hasn't reacted badly on any of the occasions.Followed instructions each time and he's been fine. Will have a word where George bought it from, and see if they've had any bad reports. If you think its the wormer then i'd steer clear in future. :) Karen

I've always used Panacur with no bad reactions - but don't doubt what you're saying. It can happen :( Hope they are all recovered from it soon
