HI GUYS,

WELL THE LATEST UPDATE OF THIS TROPHY IS THAT THE SELLER HAS NOT GOT BACK TO ME SINCE I TOLD HIM THE CLUB HAD AGREED AT THE LAST COMMITTEE MEETING THAT WE WOULDN'T BE TAKING IT ANY FURTHER. I LET HIM KNOW WE WERE NOT PREPARED TO BUY BACK SOMETHING THAT WAS ALREADY OURS AND IF HE HAD A HEART HE WOULD THING ABOUT SENDING THE TROPHY BACK TO ME. UNFORTUNATLEY HE HAS NOT REPLIED AND I PRESUME HE IS JUST GOING TO SELL IT OTHER WAYS.

THIS IS A SAD WAY TO END A LOT OF EMAILS, TIME, EFFORT AND I MAY ADD... VERY SORE FINGERS!!

I THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT THE SITUATION IS AND WHAT AN ANTI-CLIMAX IT HAS TURNED OUT TO BE!!

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR TIME, SUPPORT AND EYES TO SPOT THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I`m very dissapointed with that , Why couldn`t you offer him a `token`amount ,after all he did buy it in the first place presumably in good faith, not realising it shouldn`t have been for sale in the first place didn`t he! :( Now it`s lost forever.

I honestly thought some good may have come from all this  . I keep checking on ebay to see if its on (did find 2 non ped trophys lol).

ive very dissapointed with mintyjack

:nuke: The person who has currently got the trophy could do with being nuked. He seems to be a right nasty villain, I was going to say something else but I'm sure you will get the drift.

I would agree with Jax in that if we offered a token amount he might be prepared to part with it.

The fact that he should be aware by now, that this trophy was never his to sell, speaks volumes.

Lyd

WELL THE LAST EMAIL I HAD FROM HIM WAS JUST BEFORE THE COMMITTEE MEETING AN HE SAID HE WOUL LET IT GO FOR £100 BUT AT THE MEETING THE COMMITTEE MAJORITY SAID JUST FORGET ABOUT IT. AS PART OF THAT COMMITTEE SHOULD DO AS AGREED, BUT I DO THINK IT IS A SHAME THIS HAS BEEN A BIT OF AN ANTI-CLIMAX.

So it's the committee that is now the problem not the man who has the trophy as he bought it i good faith and after a bit of? descussion offered it the club back for in my opinion a resonable amount for such a nice trophy that would of meant he saved face and didn't loose money and the club would of got it back? ah well never mind.

But it is the Whippet Club of SCOTLAND we are talking about !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steady, Vanna , Liz and any other Scots I`M ONLY JOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! some of my best friends are Scottish.

But it is a shame . I agree with Mark , he does have a living to make , wether he`s a toss pot or not , why should he be out of pocket?,

It seems to me that some of us on K9 are more concered about the trophy than the people it belongs to :x

I would have paid £100 to get it back if it was a club trophy that meant something to me.

Perhaps the some other member from the Whippet Club of Scotland commitee can explain their reasons for the decision not to persue the matter of the trophy. I am sure that there will be many members dissapointed with this outcome. Hopefully someone from the committe will read this page and let us know. I'm sure the Whippet Club of Scotland is not any different to other whippet clubs throughout the country when it comes to making decisions regarding their club.

I am just telling everyone the outcome of the comittee meeting like I said I would. Every member got to look at the emails between the seller an myself and the majority decided that we should just let it go, for whatever their reasons were, there were only a couple of us who didn't.

As every comittee I presume is the same and a majority vote stands, as so in this case, there is not a lot I can do about it.

If I was to go behind there backs and continue negotiations with the seller then there would not be a reason for a meeting nor a comittee, I have tried my best.

Yes , and thankyou EMMA

I don't think anyone could dispute that you tried your best Emma it's just a pity the rest of the committee did not feel the same. I wonder what the members will have to say at the AGM regarding this matter? The trophy after all belongs to the members and not just the committee. Do you think it will make a difference if the members have their say at the AGM and disagree with the committee's descision?

The committee as in any club is elected to look after the interest of the club and as thats their decission members cannot realy complain as if the members where that bothered about the decissions they would be on the committee.

I would like to make two points, a) I am not Scottish, and b) I was not at that committee meeting owing to a prior engagement that day.

I personally, not as a member of WCoS, would consider paying the man £100 for the trophy as it has history, but did not have the opportunity to do this until the club had made its decision. Perhaps Emma, you could get in touch , it may not be too late to do this. Do you have his phone number?
