I was up bright and early this morning as i wanted to ferret a large bank thats 250 yds long and all the burrows are connected. I had the help of 3 friends and 2 pups. Zac a bedlington x lurcher and gracie a 6 month old whippet. I took 9 ferrets as i knew i needed this amount to actually move the rabbits from this large warren..

Here are a few pics of the Day. Gracie turned out to be a natural at ferreting, she stuck to Vixen like glue and she learned so much on her first outing. Paul her owner was as proud as punch with her as i would have been.

A little action sequence for you of vixen making a nice catch just before it hit the net, she made 5 of these today. I only caught 1 as it started to rain!!!

We ended the day with a disapointing 21, i thought we would get a few more from this banking today. We'll do it again in a month or so..

I like the look of Gracie

Great sequence, the power of Vixen is stunning in those pictures!

Great photos, Vixen looks very fit, so does Gracie. How is she bred? Being a blue fan I am always interested in blue blood lines. :)

Gracie belongs to a friend he bred her out of his unregistered Bitch Bella, She's the typical sooty sam type 21" and nearly 40lb ( i think she has a touch of bull blood in her as she really is very strong) he put her back to a registered mike brown bred blue and white dog measuring 21 1/2". Paul actually bred the pups as he wanted a pup himself and working ability was more important to him.

Paul has achieved his goal as the pups are starting to come into themselves out in the field and if Gracies performance yesterday is anything to go by she will be a fantastic working dog. She was very steady with the ferrets and was following vixen around early on then she started to work on her own by lunchtime.

Her temprement is second to none and it was a real pleasure to see her work yesterday. I look forward to seeing her out with us again next week....
