Weekend past seen me and my lurchers off to Cumbria to go to Lowther Fair and to have a drive around the Lake District. i arrived in stranraer at 730pm friday night and my eta was to be 1000pm at Penrith. this is along the A75 as the sun was dropping and i was driving...naughty naughty :- "
got held up with all the lorrys that deliver Magic Beans and Lucky Bags to the English so didnt arrive at my site till 11pm..pitch black ! slept in the car because i didnt want to waken my neighbours...Colt lay on my head and China under my thighs..what a sleep..NOT !
Posh Totty foned me to tell me she was at the venue and it was opened so i set off around 730am for Lowther. met up with the rest of the whippet coursers Big Sean and Shona and son James..Mr pennymeadow whippets Geoff Nigelmcfc and missus. the main arena was to be the setting for the coursing..great spot with one side banked up 60ft to create like a semi-amphitheatre. Slipper for the demo was Aaron Atmore of Waterloo Cup fame. heres a few of the pix..not too clear as these lil buggers buzz round the sim course
The organisers left the equestrian equipment in place which hindered the dogs but not the enjoyment :thumbsup:
and the final line up with Aaron ready to slip the finalists..red collar won belonging to Sean and Shona (try saying that pair of names on a saturday night around 2am)
great meeting Masta and Beaker too. top crowd these racers are :thumbsup:
