(sorry Sparky, but you made the title of this post too easy for me :- " )
Well, we did it, our first ringcraft session. Thank God for Dessie and the patience of everyone there, that's all I can say :b
We had a really good evening, even though Ollie was either bouncing off the ceiling or walking very nicely alongside me staring into my eyes (That obedience triaining we did a few months back did sort of work then :- " ) I'm really not sure how on earth I'm going to get him to look straight ahead in time for the next class??
Jake on the other hand spent most of his time sniffing the floor instead of walking up and down, pretending he didn't know his name (and why should he I suppose we'd only had him a matter of days  ) or standing at the end looking gorgeous
Sally and I must have had the rest of the class in despair, as we were awful; walking the wrong way, not having a clue, trying to stop dogs from jumping off the table, the list could go on and on.
My personal favourite was when Fiona (the boss!) said "You may want to have the dog between yourself and the judge Sally" when she was bending down trying to place Jake, which was a very polite way of saying "How do you expect me to see that little puppy when your huge bottom is blocking my view of the entire group"
It was an excellent evening, and we learnt so much (Thanks isn't a big enough word Dessie) Ollie discovered that he wasn't going to do anything else once he realised that Django was getting chicken, so my treats have gone out the window and the shopping budget is going to go up even more now
It was all worth the effort, as by the end things had progressed slightly, and I can't wait for the next one, we have to miss this week as we are away
Highlight of the evening, holding the lead of a real professional (Django) whilst Dessie tried to show Sally how to place the most uniterested dog you've ever seen on a table!
I wonder if they'll have us back.......................
