(sorry Sparky, but you made the title of this post too easy for me :- " )

Well, we did it, our first ringcraft session. Thank God for Dessie and the patience of everyone there, that's all I can say :b

We had a really good evening, even though Ollie was either bouncing off the ceiling or walking very nicely alongside me staring into my eyes (That obedience triaining we did a few months back did sort of work then :- " ) I'm really not sure how on earth I'm going to get him to look straight ahead in time for the next class??

Jake on the other hand spent most of his time sniffing the floor instead of walking up and down, pretending he didn't know his name (and why should he I suppose we'd only had him a matter of days  ) or standing at the end looking gorgeous

Sally and I must have had the rest of the class in despair, as we were awful; walking the wrong way, not having a clue, trying to stop dogs from jumping off the table, the list could go on and on.

My personal favourite was when Fiona (the boss!) said "You may want to have the dog between yourself and the judge Sally" when she was bending down trying to place Jake, which was a very polite way of saying "How do you expect me to see that little puppy when your huge bottom is blocking my view of the entire group"

It was an excellent evening, and we learnt so much (Thanks isn't a big enough word Dessie) Ollie discovered that he wasn't going to do anything else once he realised that Django was getting chicken, so my treats have gone out the window and the shopping budget is going to go up even more now

It was all worth the effort, as by the end things had progressed slightly, and I can't wait for the next one, we have to miss this week as we are away :(

Highlight of the evening, holding the lead of a real professional (Django) whilst Dessie tried to show Sally how to place the most uniterested dog you've ever seen on a table!

I wonder if they'll have us back.......................

(w00t) LOL sounds like a normal night at ringcraft ! Look forward to seeing you all in two weeks

Don't despair!! You were very good considering you had never done anything like it all but the main things is that you both LISTENED and soaked up everything you were told!!! And your puppies aren't nearly as badly behaved as you seem to think they are!!!

We would love to have you back again and hope you will return!

BTW we try to make it as fun as possible so if we poke fun we are laughing with you ....................... not at you!!! Believe me, we all have our moments (especially Django!!) and I expect Marina will be glad she is no longer the 'newest' girl!!! I think she is only just realising that my quips about 'foreigners' are perhaps said in jest!!!! LOL! o:)

Well done to Tracy, Sarah, Ollie and Jake, I wish I could come to your ringcraft cos I don't think mine has a Dessie and next time you will have a Millie as well.

I'm embarrassed to say that when I realised it was a match I wimped out, I just thought no way, not till he's had a few practise sessions. He could put dog showing back 10 years if he gets loose in this room. (w00t)

My family were convinced we would get expelled the first night, such fatih.

We will have to compare notes again next time but till then keep practising.

Jenny

No Dessie, I just think they were really embarrased about how useless WE were (w00t)

Ollie looked at me when I put him in the car to go home, as if to say "God, I'll never be able to show my face there again thanks to you!"

Jenny,

We will definitely have to compare notes, it's so nice to have someone having all these scary/embarrased/excited feelings as well.

I hope you find out that there are a Dessie and Millie in disguise at your club next time you go, because believe me, I know how lucky we are.....

Glad you enjoyed your first time Tracy. I am also lucky in the fact that i have a good whippet tutor at ringcraft (Leigh Morris) and it helps enormously.

Mind you i bet she cringes when im in the ring, especially if i fall to pieces and forget everything!!!!! I am now o.k nerves wise at open shows but i did fall apart at Birmingham :- " :- " Im hoping she is there 'just in case' at Blackpool!!!!!!

Enjoy yourself and i can promise you that once you've done one you are well and truly hooked

Must be that time , as Chaz and Millie made their first appearance at club tonight .I took my little helpers with me Lauren 6 and Bethany 5 . Its great have them around as the pups tend to follow  Both did very well ,Millie being very naughty at home ,she was a gem  and Chaz well what a star  Table no problem :teehee: o:)

Thanks Lolcoe, I really did enjoy it, and the dogs were sooo tired all of the following day, so an even better bonus

The scary thing is, I think we're hooked already

Round Two tonight, scary

Let's see if the practising, and Southern Counties and NWA observations have paid off.................................

:D I'll be taking the camera along LOL (w00t)

See you there !

 Tis OK Tracey, only taking it because someone else wants their whippys pic taken  Promise I'll not take any sneaky ones :b

Think I might have to take mine, just in case I need some ammunition (w00t)

good luck, sounds like great fun (yes, I am jealous)

You all sound like you had a good time, it will all get easier and easier very quickly.

You are very lucky to have a Dessie, Millie and Leigh, first time I went I was told to hold my Whippets tail out when I showed her. (w00t)
