The time has come for change and its time to put all the bad things that has happened in the past to bed once and for all as none of us can alter what has already happened .The way forward is draw a line under the past and try our best to make sure that it does not happen again and all racers are treat fairly and equally not by kangaroo courts and barrack room layers but democraticly choosen committee members ideally from all areas/regions .Having said that what can we do to make things better? These are just a few i think might help,

Firstly a list of people who for want of a better word could be refered to as reserves who could put their names forward with the offer to be called upon giving a hand with all aspects of the racing format .And i will be first to offer my name as one of those.

Two way radio contact between traps and finish line.

Weigh in no one with bitches should weigh bitches in, and likewise no one with dogs should weigh dogs.

Scratch races should be underway whilst programes are being made out.

A printer taken to track to print programmes as John Meades did at Warwick IRG meeting .

Also maybe instead of complaining after races have finished a suggestion box could be offered for people to say what was wrong and how they think it could be improved for next meeting .

Surely we are clever enough to improve the sport between us.

Also rules must be adhered to at all meetings not just changed to suit some.

Sticking to the format on the card would help also and rules regarding re-runs --

Common Sense should play a bigger part . What are your views on these subjects

THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE SOME KIND OF RACING WHILE PROGRAMS ARE BEING PRINTED i.e.SCRATCH OR VETS/PUPS/YEARLINGS,I FOR ONE WOULD ALSO OFFER MY SERVICES FREE OF CHARGE ;)

WELL PUT STEVE ..I THINK THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN THE RACING SCENE AT THE MOMENT..IS TO GET BACK TO SOME GOOD OLD RACING AND MAKE IT FUN AGAIN.

yea i no wat ure stayin steve but all this wud be gud but u need the people to do it.. no 1 has offered to help b fore so why will they change now?? it just the same few all of the time.. who is guna take all of this stuff around with them?? there is already a photocopier at asfordby to help with this.. paul bought 1.. as paul usually does it all,, now u wud like sum 1 like him to stand there with a suggestion box. sorry m8 its never guna happen.

:D some good ideas there Steve. Im sure a lot of people would help if they were only asked. Normally when u go to an open its all already sorted out but I am sure if anybody needed a hand with anything people wud help. Take the Barking Dog open there were unfortunatly no judges sorted out before the racing so nobody to judge the scratch racing. John Gill very kindly offered his services to judge this. All you have to do is ask. Thats a great idea about having some kind of racing going on when progs are being printed ie scratch as its normally 1st so the scratch heats could be hung up on the door somewhere so scratch racers cud get ready great idea.

Piglet i never said get Securico to stand and guard the suggestion box dont think that will be required after all its not rocket science we are talking about it is only common sense. But maybe you could stand there and sell a few Choc-Ices and a few cans lol  and put the profit in the kitty of course not in your sky rocket :D  how about it?your the kiddy and no drinking the profit either!

mite b the kiddy m8 but who was the 1 judging, trap man on camera, at the derby, cum to think of it who does the camera all the time bwra, fed or derby i think me. now u want to sell choc ices cos of my age m8 dont think so, anyway shudnt u be appreciating the work us young uns do not askin us to sell choc iices and cans???

I appreciate you 100% Piglet and I'm sure others do too.
