On the new sofa.......... :- " .........................

dogsnthings.jpg

:- " At least they are on the cushions and techincally speaking not touching the couch!!

True! But just to be on the safeside they

are now chained up outside, I know it's

cold and snowy but they need to harden

up a bit :D :D :D

:( Poor things!! I have a lovely warm brown leather couch they can sleep on :- " :- " With my lot!!! (w00t)

Glad to see you are sticking to your guns about not letting dogs on new sofa!

Dogs aren't allowed on ours either. At the moment my husband and 2 whippets are all snoring their heads off on the sofa ... wish the digital camera battery was charged up, I could put a photo up of the offenders :- "

Now that is a very practical and low maintenence sofa, cushion too. A quick wipe down and you'd never know dogs had been there. Unlike mine which I have to vacum each day to get rid of dog hair and stuff, but I still let them on it....I have mug written across my forehead.

They look like they would'nt mind at all about going outside today :- "

 We actually went out to buy a second sofa so that the dogs could all sit comfortably! (w00t) :- "

How long did the 'no dogs on the sofa' rule actually last before you relented?! A question for those with leather sofa's as im thinking of getting one - do the dogs claws make marks and scratch?

Chloe is not allowed on the sofa, never has been, and she never ever trys to get on. Frankie is allowed on because he was already naughty and programmed for sofas when he moved from Juleys! (w00t) It's funny that Chloe hasn't tried to get up since Frankie arrived, she doesn't seem to understand the concept of fairness thankfully!

The leather seems fine, I do have a small throw on there for them to lay on, but no scratches or tears yet

ive got a chesterfield and no way was i gonna let any of mine on in case they ripped it :b (that rule lasted about 10 minutes! :- " )

We got a new leather sofa just before we got Evie Last year and there are no scratches or scuff marks on it, we have had Gracie three weeks and she flies on and off the sofa and chairs at an alarming pace (w00t) and still no scratches, all in all I would say they are very practical. I clean mine with baby wipes, I'd say go for it

Same here Julie - we got a blue leather one last year too, the dogs do get on it now and then  :- " but Kobi snuggles onto the hairy cushions - Oscar seems to prefer our bed and sneeks off there when he can.

but Yep - no tears or scratches at all - YET.... very practical.

We have soft leather suite and the 3 pups we have now and Jack our last Whippie have never scratched or damaged it in anyway! Leather uphostery is very good for dogs as someone mentions before easy to clean and hard wearing.

Now the CAT!!!!!!! Thats another thing!!!!!!! Hmmmmmm :- "

When my mom got a new sofa she said the very same thing...then when it arrived we hadn't got it out of the plastic wrap stuff and Zak was straight up there making himself comfortable.

we also said,no dogs on the leather furniture :- " :- " now they have taken over

we've found the leather sofa to be fine really, even tho the dogs are on it at every possible opportunity - I keep the dogs' nails short anyway but haven't had any bother with scratches (now that is bound to tempt fate, saying something like that! (w00t) )
