J. R. Whippet rescue re-homed a whippet bitch, who gave her new owners the slip the day after they got her (Please note, these people are experienced whippet owners having had 2 previous dogs from the rescue.)

Fawn whippet bitch, small amount white on paws, slight black overlay giving a darker appearance. 8 years old, 18" high, was wearing a new black whippet collar with a J R Rescue tag. She is very nervous, having lived previously in a stable with little human contact. Went missing on Wednesday, 28.09.05

Missing from Alston, Cumbria, This is a very rural area, the nearest towns being Carlisle, Hexham and Penrith. It is possible that if anyone should be able to pick her up, they may take her to any of the surrounding towns, so please keep an eye out for her, and call whippet rescue or pm myself if you should see or hear of her.

The description is the best I have of her, sorry I can't add anything to it.

Poor little girl, hope she turns up. :luck:

Still no news on her. I just wish she had been microchipped. The location is so rural that if anyone should find her, they could take her miles away to hand her in as a stray. Although she does have a collar and tag - they do come off.

Please don't forget about her - as I said, she could end up anywhere.

I hope she is found soon - poor little love must be scared and confused. I hope she is soon back with her new foster parents and settles in well with them - they must be worried to death about her.

Poor dog she must be petrified - and after finding a lovely new home - hope shes found safe and well soon. :luck: :luck:

I'll put my feelers out Jools, have contacted a farmer in Penrith who will spread the word, it might be worth contacting Penrith Police Headquarters and Eden Council as well if the owners havent already done so

Theres so many major roads in the area, it doesnt sound promising for such a timid dog :(

Thanks for that Denise, whippet rescue have been advising the owners and as far as I can tell, they have notified everyone.

Where's your next show by the way, it seems ages since I saw you.
