New Maidstone PWRC will be holding a 'dress rehearsal / equipment testing' racing event on Easter Sunday.......Hockers Lane, Detling, Maidstone, ME14 3JJ
Being a new club we have been forced by necessity to borrow equipment, and put our hands in our pockets to get things started.
We are very confident about the equipment, but need to familiarise ourselves. We are going to be supported on the day by a good number of members from the East Anglia PWRC - our gratitude is immense.
Our plan is to hold a proper race meeting -- weigh in by 11.00am, and a prompt start at noon.
We are hoping that the event will attract a good number of whippets and owners - we will put together a race card once everyone has assembled and are ready for action.
The Hockers Lane race field is quite beautiful in the spring and everyone is welcome to camp /caravan from Thursday night for a nominal charge of £2. Apparently a BBQ might be on the cards over the weekend.
The first offical meeting of the new club will be on Sunday 19th April, when we will have a ' booking in ' system installed.
