I took so many photos throughout the Victorian bushfire ordeal I thought I should probably put them in some order. A couple of weeks ago I drove over the Black Spur and on up to Buxton. It took me through Narbethong which was hit very badly by the fires. I'd been hesitant to go and look but I loved these towns, they have a place in my heart and I wanted to see. I still cant bring myself to go to Marysville though.
I was shocked at the devastation, just mile after mile of blackened forest.
Yesterday I drove up the Chum Creek rd. Although it's really just a part of Healesville and I know many people who live there I haven't been able, until now to go there, I just couldn't bear it. I am glad there are lots of signs of new life, the Aussie bush has evolved for thousands of years to survive fire and it's truly amazing to see green shoots sprouting from charcoal.
anyway if you want to have a look see here.
