After setting up our mortgage with Halifax, we thought we had a good deal.

We are due to complete in 2 weeks (w00t)

But last night i had a scroll through halifax website to spot a first time buyers Mortgage at 5.49% fixed for 5 years....

which we can have  cos we havnt had a mortgage on our last house we are classed as 1st timer buyers :)

and its saved us £44 per month ... over 5yrs:)

HOLIDAY MONEY TO ME 8) 8) 8)

Just shows what a couple of mins scouring sites can do

 better in your pocket, than theirs

must be the mortgage time of year...we were in halifax ystday about our mortgage being up for renewal...was advised to look out for hidden extras,ie.fees to join into mortgage...just read all the small print...srry to be such a fly in the ointment but worth checking!!

yeah there is a fee :( ..... but for what we are getting extra is worth it

Im not looking forward to re-newing mine, I hate doing it, it's a real chore! Plus I renew when Im due my baby so that will be exciting NOT

Good luck with what comes up trumps :luck: We are on a fixed rate got another 2yrs and four months yet and just before that we will look for another good deal

i knw how u feel...all that info 2 take in and hope and pray that u are doing the right thing by whichever mortgage u take.... woman we seen ystday said rates were so high 2 deter people from borrowing!! told her we didnt really want the mortgage then, that i'd burn the house down...heaven forbid..but with my cooking anything possible :D :D
