Hi first time on this forum and was looking for similar posts to mine.

Basically my dog (staffie cross) had a small white sort of wart type thing on his back leg a few week ago and I just assumed it was a wart and would go away. However when I remembered a couple days ago avout it I went to check his leg and now seems to be bigger and hard and black/grey now almost like the same texture and color as his paw pads. Should I take him to the vet and get this checked out or wait until after the new year to see if its just a wart thats just growing out? Ive attached images of what it looks like. Seems to hurt him if I touch it

Warts don't hurt. Anything causing ongoing pain should be vet checked.

Our dog had a wart on his side when we rescued him (just over a year ago). Recently it started bleeding and we feared something sinister, so took him to the vets for it to be checked out. They recommended having it removed and analysed, which we did. He spent the day in "hospital", but soon perked up after a good night's sleep. The analysis came back clear, so nothing sinister. Phew. I would recommend having a vet look at it, but of course, if you have to have it removed, it can be costly.

It sounds a bit like it could be a skin tag - Dennis has a few of these on his legs that have popped up as he's got older. These aren't painful for him though so maybe if it is for your dog a quick check at the vets might put the mind at ease
