Jill likes a drink of milk first thing, i use semi skimmed, why do others use goats milk

I think it is said that Goats Milk is easier for dogs to digest. I have a whippet who can't tolerate anything milky or milk based however, if she does get in to the wrong stuff (as opposed to the white stuff) I have to stay up all night with her as she starts crying, farting and wanting to go out to do runny poohs every so often !!!

Hi Keith I always used to use goats milk because 1) it is higher in fat content and 2) is closer to the milk that they get from their mother than any other you can buy.

I was told that the goats milk is more easily digested too ,

it is very beneficial to asthma sufferers etc and people with allergies. :thumbsup:

My grandmother always kept goats when my mother was younger. :thumbsup:

mine love there cup of tea in the morning and early evening but i dont feed cows milk on its own as jan cant stomach it either :x

they also have goats milk about 3 / 4 times a week and she is fine on that :thumbsup:

cows milk upsets my ecksey's tummy too, :x but he is ok on goats milk, mayb its not as rich,xx

Goats milk is easier to digest and it is possible to use were there is lactose intolerance. :thumbsup:

i give mine goats milk every night with a few biscuits just before bed,it helps mine with their stomachs as they always had too much bile and sometimes was sick

I've believe cow's milk is too rich for their digestive system but semi-skimmed is probably OK

Jinny has the left over milk from my cereal every morning and it's never done her any harm. I tried goat's milk when she was a puppy but even the smallest amount of it sent her bladder into overdrive and she couldn't hold herself at all Not used it since :thumbsup:

Mine have goats milk on their cereal every morning.And they have tea every lunch time!

Goats milk has smaller fat globules that makes it much easier to digest than cows milk

I think goat's milk is best for puppies, but Jill is adult now and if it doesn't upset her and she enjoys it that's great.

I gave one of mine cow's milk as a pup once. A few mins later the cries of pain were incredible , followed by protracted rubbing along the floor on their belly to ease the pain, and then the darkest squits you've ever seen :x . Never again. :sweating:
