Lurcher/sighthound Shows

I've lost my contact list for the dog shows this year in the North East, does anyone know of any?

Countrymans Weekly is the best source of info, but you may have to order as a lot of newsagents dont just stock

Yup, CW, is a good source of information for shows.

If there is'nt a list already drawn up of regular shows, would it be possible to get one together for this site, or from all the wee bits and pieces we all know about individually coming together?

In that, when I took more of interest in KC shows, if you sent a couple of quid to the Scottish Kennel club, they provided a list for the year of all shows open/ltd/champ. in Scotland. Saved me having to keep buying "Our Dogs" or similar every week, although once you'd entered once, associations tended to send out schedules.

Anyway, I realise it would be a huge task, and never quite comprehensive, but maybe it would be a good way to raise funds for the site or rescue?

People tell me the Irish shows are also listed in Countryman's Weekly, but I can't find a copy of it at any local newsagents. Found magazines with similar titles but little relevant info, such as the monthly "Countryman"

I'm more interested in racing. I live in N Ireland but want to find out about lurcher and whippet racing in Scotland and Wales as those are both places I might go on holidays and might bring dogs across on the ferry.

Any readers going to race (non-pedigreed) whippets at Kirkcaldy the end of this mont? - a week of races from 23-30th, races first Sat and Sun, Wed, final Sat, and then on the final Sun a Derby for qualified dogs who have won preliminary heats.
