.... if there is anyone who lives around the Bury Wood, Boxmoor area of Hemel Hempstead, can you keep an eye out please for: SOPHIE - black and tan smooth-haired lurcher, around 23/24inches at the shoulder. Wearing green tartan collar with tag. Is microchipped. Lost at around 1pm today when she ran on to the road, was clipped by a car and ran off into Bury Wood.

Sophie was my mother's dog, she lives with my brother and his family. They are out looking for her now. She is much loved - but has always (she is around 10years old) been a bit dippy and just ran on too far down the hill today, not staying with her lab companion.

Please pass this on to anyone you know who walks their dogs in this area.

so hope you find Sophie soon, we are not far away if you need any help

thats my neck of the woods, I'll ask around, and get my OH to keep his eyes open too - hope she is sound and sound soon :luck:

Her details have now been put on the dogs lost website. The owners are hoping to put a photo of her on there tomorrow. (Hopefully she'll be back home by then).

Sophie

She's back. This is crossposted (ie she's not my dog). Nice to hear of a happy ending. :)

Sophie found her own way home - waking the family with howls at 3am this morning !!!

She is exhausted, has sore feet, a bit of limp, and stinks of fox. After resting up, she is now about to get a bath and a thorough check over. Jos is then off to collect all the posters!

Jamie and Jos and the kids asked me to thank everyone for their concern and for al the help by cross posting - and the doglost and petsearch websites which resulted in local people contacting with offers of help.

Sophie has come home on what would have been mum's birthday. That has made everyone a bit tearful :- )

Thank you all
