A nice calm walk with Whisper, then a little dog comes out of the bushes and won't leave her alone. At least 2 minutes of evading said dog until it's owner appears with HEADPHONES ON. He had no idea where his dog was or what he was doing for 2 minutes. When he finally arrived I said "can you call you're dog please" and he said "it's an open feild he can do what he wants!"
We now have to walk whisper 30 minutes drive in the woods for 2 days to geT her stress levels down.

Poor Whisper. Some people have no idea :(

If you feel up to it, I find shouting 'mine has fleas' is a great way to get people to call their dog back.
I've used that line, the owner shouted back "frontline her you dosey bi**c" :(

Oh dear - that backfired!

It was always my understanding that dogs on footpaths should be under close control or on a lead:oops::oops::eek:
Maybe times have changed:rolleyes:

Try telling the next person that your dog or dogs have Kennel Cough!
Ha ha ! I've tried this one as well. Response; " what's kennel cough? Does she have the flue ?" True story

There's a 'dog etiquette' poster at our local park - I think it's one by Dr Sophia Yin which you can find here, along with a discussion of dog park etiquette: Dog Park Etiquette: Rules to Help Dogs Get Along If you google 'dog park etiquette poster' you can find other posters too.

Maybe you could ask your council if they would be happy to display one of these posters? Then you can just politely, or not so politely, draw less considerate owners' attention to it.

I would tell them to call their dog away as she is vicious towards other dog's the owners are not to know she's a sweetheart:)
I take my dogs out at around 5 every morning so I don't have to run into idiots like these sayng that as soon as they see Liam they are calling their dogs back putting them on a lead and walking in the opposite direction if only they new Liam would not go near their dogs unless told he can do so,Floyd is the one who is dog reactive:)

I used that line the other day - a jack russell type came charging towards us. I was working on dog neutrality with Harri and didn't want to allow an interaction. On lead he needs my permission to meet and greet so I put myself between them. Usual ineffectual owner strolls up bleating that "don't worry, he's friendly. My reply was "Mine isn't (sorry Harri, we know you are really!).

Ineffectual owner almost broke into a run in his haste to grab his dog.

I love the dog etiquette poster will print afew off.

Floyd is a JRT and he is very dog reactive that's why I take them out between 5-5.30 in the mornings:)

Yes I should try that, not good at early rising.

I have a reactive dog mainly to men in hi viz clothing...I walk ar 430am every morning so my lot can have a 90 min offlead walk ..unfortunately if you walk in the woods or fields the chances are you will come across off lead dogs that may run over before owner has realised

We had a right one this morning he turned up at the doggy playground ( fenced in) with his rottie.. Went to gate said nothing. So we said did you want to come in? Err yes he say so we said well wait a mo we will get these two on lead and move along to the agilty area.. He strolled in leaving the gate open (george is an escape artist) and his rottie wandered in after him luckily she was ok but Murphy is reactive esp with big black dogs.. So we hurried off out the other gate,

Then he let her take a HUGE crap I saw he wasnt going to do anything so I held up a bag and shouted want a bag for that ? He shrugged and turned away..As he turned back I had the camera pointed at him his face is now on local FB as the lazy sod who wont pick up..

Sadly there is no law against stupid, arrogant, good for nothing, waste of oxygen, types like these.
