The hares don't share our enthusiasm. They keep running away from us!

great pics mate, have you got any more to share with us.

Plenty of places to stay!

Like old line cabbins. If you don't mind Pack Rats.

We always stay at the same Hotel/motel which hasn't changed a bit since the old post card was taken. I think they still have the same menu too!!

This is not an exageration.

The saloon bar is something to see! It can be a wild place. Bullet holes in the ceiling!

The historic "Virginian" hotel.

Got lots, but will have to post later. Got to go and get my chain saw fixed. Haven't got all my winter firewood in the wood shed yet.

This picture from this Spring.

We don't because we only have Whippets, but there are lots of Coyotes and a few red fox. Most of the 'yotes are shot. They are extremely shy. No wonder. Every one seems to have a rifle in their pick ups and take pot shots at any coyote they see. Consequently any time you see one it makes off for the horizon as soon it sees a vehicle slowing down. They are comparatively easy to call though.

Badgers everywhere. Few terrier men. We did meet one guy who had a pack of Russel types. Ranchers hate badgers so they are fair game. They are smaller than European badger, but are more bad tempered and agressive.

your just so lucky to have all that space and hares/rabbits for your whippets to chase

I'M just so green with envy :x

good hunting

The first picture is taken on Marshall Road. Marshall Road is about eighty miles long and is a dirt road it's entire length. There are few houses. Maybe three or four ranch houses. When it rains or snow melts it's just about impassable, even with to-days four wheel drive vehicles.

The annual rainfall is about ten inches per year. It's mostly public land where anyone can hunt etc. in season and subject to having a hunting license.

Actually we don't live there -YET.

We live exactly 1020 miles from there, but we have plans to change that!

More trees and mountains where we live. Similar climate. Classed as high desert.

You`re a lucky bloke !!! All that land and game - and the freedom to go where you want to for the price of a game licence. If I win the lottery my bags and the dogs bags will be packed !!!! :D

We came here from Shropshire twentyfive years ago and the only time I regret it is when I'd like a decent pint and crack or on an Autumn frosty morning when thoughts turned to cub hunting. I can stop missing the last one now I suppose!

I can even buy Newkie Brown at the local Safeway grocery store now!!
