Hi.
I'm new to this forum and just need some advice, I recently let my dog mate with another lab via AI on the 20th and 23rd of may. Had test done to see when she was most fertile had a scan last week and the scanner (not a vet) said that she is showing no pups but Lucy has completely changed she is very tired a lot, her temperament has changed also her nipples are slightly bigger and much darker she had 1 little inny which has started to come out slowly and her mammery glands at the back first and seconds look like they are drooping slightly, the scanner told me a bunch of different things one being a phantom but Lucy has had 2 and the way she is now is completely different, scanner also told me that sometimes a dogs egg are not compatible with the studs sperm (has anyone heard of this before) I have read that sometimes puppies can hide high up in the uterus or under the ribs...any advice would be very helpful.

I'd have thought you'd be best off asking your vet. They will be able to check for other causes for the changes yo've seen as well as pregnancy.

Hi I saw the vet yesterday he had a little feel and said he couldn't feel anything.

Much too early for scans and palpations. Relax! Your observed changes probably indicate pregnancy, but the new beings are just a bunch of cells right now. Really the less bitches are hassled the better - it doesn't make them any more pregnant if they are and doesn't change the situation if they are not.

Enjoy this very special time with your girl. Keep a diary. But don't expect obvious changes until about 7 weeks. Use the time to read up lots and lots about pregnancy and birth. I hope it all goes well.

Hi Hemlock

Thanks for the reply, I have constantly been reading and educating myself that's why I am looking for advice as so many articles online say that you should be able to see them on a scan etc...
