Keeping everything crossed for her safe return :luck: :luck:

Yes, my darling Flossie has gone missing. She jumped a fence chasing rabbits at 9pm with another of my whippets. The other one came back after an hour but Flossie didn't come back. We've heard that she was hit by a car on Friday night, but was seen on Monday at 6pm looking quite able bodied but very frightened. I've tried everything I can think of: police, dog wardens, vets, rescue centres, posters, door drops, flagging down motorists, phoning everyone I know. We've scoured the area (very rural and heavily wooded). It's been on radio Kent. I've even asked a clairvoyant. Have notified Lurcher Search. She's wearing a collar and tag. Am wondering if there are any tracker dogs such as Bloodhounds I could try?

I don't know what to do next, and can hardly bear this torment. Does anyone out there have any other ideas?

It just goes to show that even when you're running your dogs on private ground with 4 foot fencing all round, you can't underestimate the pulling power of rabbits.

Please help me.

:'( :'( Oh I'm so sorry Riley :( I really haven't any further suggestions but maybe some others who are more experienced in missing dogs maybe able to help.

I dearly hope you will be reunited with Flossie soon :luck: :luck:

So sorry to learn about Flossie. :'(

We lost one of my parrots some years ago, we also did everything we could think of then. We printed about 200 fliers, and posted them everywhere. This brought lots of sightings from public. You should ask local radio stations again. They are usually very helpful. ( not BBC Kent- they refused to help us) as well as put an ad with a picture in local newspapers . I'm also in Kent, at the furthest corner from you. Still if anything I could do, please let me know by email. I will keep an eye for any notices in local papers etc. By the way, scent tracking sounds to me a really good idea. Maybe you can ask the scent hound breed club for a help?

Hope you will be reunited with Flossie, soon. :luck:

I wish you the very best for a safe return and will keep an eye out this way for you :luck:

Very Good Luck for Flossie's safe return :luck: I do hope this story has a happy ending.

Hope you find Flossie very soon .

Someone saw the poster in the vet's this morning and phoned to say she'd seen Flossie in her garden on Tuesday evening and just thought she was a naughty dog. Apparently she scooted off very fast, so is obviously still mobile despite having been hit by a car. I went straight to the woman's garden but she was nowhere to be seen. We've just done another marathon around the woods with our springer spaniel and another whippet, but there was no trace. The advert will come out in the local paper tomorrow, so please everyone out there - say a big heartfelt prayer!

Riley

Well I think that is really encouraging. Will the woman let you leave a crate in her garden with one of your T-shirts in it? At least she is OK and no-one has taken her. I feel really positive that you will get her back. Don't give up hope. :luck: Come on Flossie, be brave, find a nice person and ask for help. :luck:

:huggles: Everything crossed for your girl coming home soon :luck: :luck: :luck:

Posting for Riley

FLOSSIE IS HOME

She was found this morning    :huggles:

Flossie's home. I found her in the field from where she'd gone exactly one week ago. She must have found her way back, and it was just amazing to see her there - two minutes sooner or later I might not have found her! She's very thin and has a wound on her foreleg where she'd been hit by a car, but following surgery she's fine - still very tired, but won't let me out of her sight, and is eating little and often (ravenously hungry of course). She smelt of musty hay so I think had been sleeping in a neighbour's field where goats are kept. She was amazingly clean and free from scratches. Her mouth was quite swolen but we think that was caused from grubbing up roots etc. Who knows? There must have been an angel out there somewhere.

Thanks to you all for your support.

Riley
