Hi everyone, new on this forum. I have 4 dogs, 2 live in the house and 2 live out in the kennel. I’ve never had kennel dogs before, only ever lived in the house with me. However, when my partner and myself decided to get 2 more dogs (meant to be working dogs) I thought I’d be okay with them being in the kennel. It turns out that I really don’t like it. However, my partner doesn’t see a problem with it. I feel that not enough time is spent with the dogs, not enough interaction, socialising. I’d much rather have them house trained and living in doors. They can still be working dogs living in the house right? Would be grateful for any advice received.
Thanks

Hmm. Lots of dogs live happily in kennels, lots of dogs live happily in houses. You don't suggest the kennel is uncomfortable in any way. Interaction is important but you don't say what quality of interaction the outdoor dogs get (or the indoor ones for that matter). Or the reason why your partner chooses to have them as outdoor dogs. So I don't think it's a black and white issue, and on the information you have given, I'm not sure it's possible for us to help you frame your case for bringing them in.

How muc interaction do they get? What work do they do? Do they seem happy/content, do they have any behavioural issues?

I knew someone who ended up with an outdoor dog, can’t remember how it happened. Anyway, they tried to make it indoor, but every night it wanted out to its kennel by 9 pm. Labrador, I think.

I know of dogs that thrive living in kennels and others that didn't and had to live indoors. It swings in roundabouts.
But saying that, there are kennels and then there are kennels. All the dogs I know that lived in kennels had access to a outdoor run of a really good size. Plus the kennels had heat lamps in them.
