Would love to hear what people have found successful in keeping their puppies entertained but calm. We find the Antos meaty bones work rather brilliantly though he struggles to hold them in place by himself. We've tried a Kong rubber bone toy which holds treats in it for him to release, but he doesn't seem to understand and gets bored with it, or they fall out and he loses them.

The original Kong toy, stuffed with something interesting, is a good one. They make one designed for puppies. They can be frozen which is sometimes comforting if puppy is teething.

Knotted ropes are enjoyed by some puppies.

Do supervise all toys.

Thanks! I've been putting a few fingerfuls of chicken liver pate into a kong bone and then freezing it, he loves that, and if you freeze it it takes longer to eat. We've got tonnes of toys, he's a spoilt little brat. :p

By the way gypsysmum, do you have any recommendations on what is OK to put in these kinds of toy? I considered peanut butter but have heard it's not a good for dogs.

Peanut butter is fine BUT do check that it does not contain artificial sweetener (this is toxic to dogs). I would imagine it is only in the ones labelled "low sugar" but best to check anyway.

Thanks Joanne :) Couldn't remember the name and even if I had remembered it I would have had trouble remembering how to spell it!
