Hello from sunny Scotland! I just thought I'd introduce myself (Leanne) and my pooch Loki my right hand gal. We are very active in life and training - me being a dog walker helps loads! I'm also currency studying canine behaviour and training with hopes to learn dig grooming soon too.

I decided to join a forum so I could ask loads of questions and hopefully see other people's experiences not only with my own breed (the lovely GSD) but I'm looking to add a second different breed into our family :) so far the standard poodle has come out on top for us and we are on a waiting list though not guaranteed for this litter from this particular breeder.

I'll post a separate topic about the standard poodle but if anyone has experience if love to hear!

Welcome to you and Loki. She looks gorgeous!

Standard Poodles can be clowns and they can also be very noisy :)

One of the health problems they are subject to is Addisons Disease. Do make sure your breeder has screened her stock for hip and elbow dysplasia. You cannot screen for Addisons disease. It is an auto immune disease.

Thankyou :) she is quite a character too!

This particular breeder screens all her stocks and both parents are fantastic

I had heard about the clown-ness of the poodle which should be a nice contrast to the serious shepherd way (though I love her for it) and GSDs are known as the noisy dog but my girl is an oddball and has only barked a handful of times.

I'm very interested in the grooming regime for this breed and different clips ☺️
