I woke up this morning - Its gonna be a great day ! !

We have had our first frost and first freeze this fall so winter is surely

right just around the corner - all the glorious fall color has fallen from the branches

and bushes just leaving the dark green of the occasional cedar and pine remaining

as a reminder of what will come in the spring - It is a 3-D day (damp, dreary,

dismal) so far - its supposed to clear off this afternoon and have sunshine -

however, I do not have much faith in the weather prognosticators lately -

so one thing I seem to wonder about is our annual inventory of "stuff"

on the kitchen counter and window sills - (the gathering place of all sorts

of weird things) - going clockwise from the west wall to the east wall (its not

a large kitchen so we dont have a lot to clean) <G> we start on top of the

fridge since its flat and will hold stuff too - there resides the spray can of

wasp and hornet spray to kill the buggers that invade the porch periodically

and for some reason or other a microwave back of popping corn - I suppose

that one could argue its handy since microwave is also on top of the fridge -

on the counter are the two empty coffee cups from earlier - then the doggie

cookie jar - then my oreo cookie jar that always seems empty because we

dont procure them nearly as often as doggie treats - then comes the mini-

blender that never seems to be used except for grinding up puppy food

to mix the gruel when they are very young - so it sits there for years waiting

for the next time at which time it usually has siezed up and we have to

buy another anyway - then we have the two insulated coffee mugs and

their respective lids that we use when traveling to shows, coursing or

other things on the road - there about 3 or 4 big candles that we use

when the power goes out and we have to wait until the power trucks can

get to out us out in the boonies - we have a quart jar of Cut Heal for the occasional

abrasion from colliding with trees or the house or a misjudged jump for the porch ,

a very rare occasional line burn etc... its also good for human abrasions and

cuts - works wonders on paper cuts - however I digress - 3 packages of

heartguard-plus - a small bottle of caster oil and some tea tree oil both

of which were touted as cures for pad corn on our old gal Fillie - neither

works and have been there for at least 2 years - surely there is something

coming up in the future that it will be useful for - there is a strange little pottery

bowl of about 2" size that has as its current residents - a small dust bunny of

dog hair - two pennies - one safety pin - two twisties - one tooth pick (used

I imagine) - one half used package of paper plates that we use when we

come in late from a road trip and want something quick to eat before bed -

one "dripping can" that Paula pours all the "good stuff" from cooking -

one salt shaker - pepper shaker (that is never filled, it just matches the set) -

a pepper can - and of course the sugar bowl with lid that is never put back on -

and there you have it - its a wonder that we have any room left for the

"important stuff"

you-all have a good day - it is a good day here -
