:( :( :( :( This is a very sad day for me, but if anyone knows anyone who would like an older bitch puppy for a pet, then I have sadly made the decision that Elkie must have a new home.

Reason, her front is not good enough for showing and certainly not for breeding from. Having said that, she is a real character and will make someone a lovely pet and bring much joy into their lives. Poor Pedro is heartbroken, cos he loves her to bits.

The picture was taken at Manchester when she was 6 months old. So if anyone out there knows someone who could give her the best home possible I'd be very grateful.

Got a tear in my eye too cos she is a wonderful little girl.

Thanks

Hope Elkie finds a good home soon, she looks lovely

She is stunning Jan   - how old is she now?? please

Why can you not breed from her- just wondering really.

Sorry about that, Jan ... hope you find a lovely home for her. Nice to meet you at Grenoside at the weekend!

Wilfred (aka Gill)

Its always hard to make that decision, Good luck with finding a new home. The right one will come along for sure

Sorry for taking so long to respond, but haven't been getting home till very very late.

Reason for not breeding from her is because she is too shallow in front and this a fault which I don't want to bring into any subsequent puppies.

Some hopeful news though. A lady from Barnsley who had contacted the lovely Dawn rang me and is coming to look at Elkie on Friday (tomorrow), so she may have a new home.

Thanks to Dawn.

I keep wondering what I have to do to get a good bitch. My dogs always seem to have less obvious faults than the bitches.

Simone has still not come into season yet, although she has been giving off the signs for ages now. I think it's just an excuse so she can come up and sleep with her Dad (protective covers on of course).

Hi folks, seems so long since I last was online. The lady came from Barnsley to look at Elkie, but decided (her boyfriend did) that she wanted a dog instead, but if they had a bitch she would need to be the size of Elkie's mum, Asharna. Anyone would think that Elkie was huge, which she isn't. So she is still looking for a new home.

On top of that her litter brother has come back because the people who had him are business people and can't give him the attention he needs.

He is a fawn dog with blue mask, is of a good size. He is lovely BUT he has been sleeping on their bed and at the moment I am unsuccessfully trying to retrain him to sleep in the kitchen at night. So if anyone wants an older dog puppy and will allow him to sleep in bed at night, he will be a companion for life! Thus far he has not had any 'accidents' in the house.

If the person of 'Farwells' is still interested in Elkie please get in touch, I did email them but not sure if they got it as my ISP has been having technical difficulties.

What a situation, what bothers me is why people have dogs and hand them back claiming they havent got time, prospective owners should consider all this before getting a dog. But then again i dont know the situation in this case so i will shut up, at least they brought him back to you

Farwell's actually got a whippetxlurcher on Monday from the RSPCA.

Good luck with your search for homes and i will keep my ear to the ground.

Hi Janfiers,

Please can you give me a few more details i.e age, cost, house trained etc? Do you have any pics?

I have a 19 week old male, and am contemplating getting another dog, although I really shouldn't be!!

Thanks

Tracy

Blue will be one year old on 8th July, and completely house trained. He looks a bit skinny at the moment as he is finding it hard to readjust to life. I don't have any photos of him but I will get some taken and hope everyone will understand why he looks so skinny. He is a very gentle character and gets on well with all my others, two of which are his litter brother and sister plus Asharna and BJ (his parents) and Simone his half sister and my two Iggies. At the moment he is standing out in the sunshine with his sister.

Oops forgot to mention cost, it will really depend on whether he goes with papers or not, if you want to contact me via email I will happily tell you but I never think it's wise to discuss money in public, so to speak.

Hi Janfiers,

I am really interested and would like to talk some more. He would definitely not be too old as far as I am concerned, but I am sure that you would have a million questions to ask me?!

Would it be possible to email me with your telephone number maybe, and I can call you?

My email is tracy.chamberlain@bmw.co.uk

Many, many thanks

Tracy

Not doing very well today.

If you want to email me regarding price I'll be happy to let you know, I just never talk money in public, so to speak.

Me brains all in a whirl (OK Jax I know that's no different to usual) cos I've been told I probably will have to have an operation - don't ask, just left overs of having kids 25 years ago - who'd have 'em and be thankful if you haven't. So if I'm not making much sense that's my excuse and the reason why I won't be showing too much.

Brassed off with a 'P' about it cos Lol is looking good and coming on nicely.

poor you, you sound so stressed.

good luck with finding new homes

Keep in touch Jan , let us know if/ when you have to go in hospital and we`ll all come round and cheer you up :huggles:

Oh Jen - I have just joined the K9 community (minutes ago so to speak). I am based in Dubai, UAE, own two Italian Greyhounds.. and just toying with the idea of adding a whippet female to my girls pack. Started with amateur-ish desert coursing few weeks back-Elkie would be a lovely addition to our spoiled hound pack..

The troubles with the distance break my heart... :(

Wish you best of luck - with the whipps as well as with your health porblems,

Martina Boor

Do you have any more pickies and details of Elkie please? I've been told I must contact you about her! I've been looking for a whippet bitch for a good few weeks now. The only problem is distance - story of my life. I'm in N.E. Hampshire! But I'm sure something could be sorted out.

FYI, I am currently following up a lead on another bitch that's a few counties away from me, and will be viewing her in the next day or two, but I'm just a little concerned about the full history/circumstances regarding this girl - need to investigate thoroughly. I'm taking a show/breeder friend along with me to see what she thinks.

I look forward to hearing from you.

:- " Thanks for your support Jax, but I'm not sure the hospital could cope with K9'ers, mad lot that we are. Should know for sure on the 19th, which is just after NSFKA, which I've entered and I'm definitely going to be there AND showing, even if I have to put a bung in the appropriate place just to keep all my bits in place!

Elkie has got a chap from Stockport coming to see her tomorrow, thanks Jax, and he is bringing his two children as well. They have seen Elkie's picture on here and Neil's (that's his name) girlfriend has already fallen in love with her, so it is looking very positive.

Blue is going to an excellent home, in May, when we go up to SKC. He is going to Ian and Michelle, my son and his wife. Sleeping on a bed will be no problem as they already have a labrador cross who sleeps there! Not sure if Ian and Michelle will be sleeping on the floor when Blue gets there too. They were going to have Simone after she had a litter, but as she refuses to come into season, they have nagged me to have Blue.

So that's ending nicely.
