Hello, I have a 4 month old West Highland Terrier. He has been recently diagnosed with a grass allergy. He is on piriton and we sash his paws after every walk. However he is constantly biting his paws, even to the point of bleeding. My vet said due to his age, there wasn't much more that could be done until he turned 1.I have heard of getting a supplement for his food to help with the itching and i was wondering if anyone has tried it and which one to get, or if there was anything else i can do for my poor puppy. Thank you

Hi @Gemma1298 - sorry to hear about your poor pups allergy :-(

I can’t help with the supplement thing but have you tried putting boots on his paws? It will obviously be strange for him at first but will stop any contact with the grass

Thank you very much for the advice. Will look into the boots!

No problem :)

My labrador had to wear one once when he cut his paw and it was winter. He found it strange at first and then carried on as normal(ish) as he could with a boot on!

Same with my lab but 2 baby cotton socks on the one paw when she split her paw pad (reactions same as you mentioned)
