It's not easy to tell a whippet pup from any other at a young age. most puppies all look the same till they start to get older and develop their breed traits, sorry to be the one to tell you but the chances are that its not going to be a whippet,
it's very unusual for a whippet pup to be roaming the streets.
The main thing to consider is do you like the pup for what it is? or may be? or do you definatly want a whippet? if you definatly want a whippet i'd say find somone to take the pup on and buy one from a breeder its the only way to be sure of what your getting.
