In the ground poo bin (?)

Hi

I saw on a garden rescue years ago, a special kind of poo bin dug into the ground, that composts the poo (with the aid of special tablets you put in) and then releases it into the soil. Can anyone help me identify what they are called and if they are any good please? Thanks
