Ikea Sale :(

well ikea has there 21st birthday today and to celebrate they have a 21%off everything sale only today, my cousin works there so she said plan everything you want to get in advance right it down and go stright to her and she would order all the orded stuff for me, well they opened at 6am and i got there 10past and already the car park is half full and people on there way out with thinks they have bought, walks round and there are MASSIVE!! queues at every station (god help you if your planning on buying a new kitchen today), so picks up the wee bits i need and found my cousin, who was hiding in the back lol, and she put my order through, goes to pay and the queues were busy but not bad and then gets to the home delivery to find the queue is a mile long

got in the queue at 6.40am and finaly got sevred at 7.50am thats a hole hour just to give them my name and address :angry:

i have never in my life seen people buy so much stuff in one go, there were people who must have been kitting out there whole house pushing 2 trollys each filled with large boxes and also sheets of things to collect

i thought it would be busy but never like that at 6 in the morning, i really feel for anybody who has planns to go there today,

one word of advice TAKE THE BUS! the car park was full at 7.45am when i left.

I would never in a month of sundays have gone at that time of day for anything...I much prefer internet shopping.. :lol:

janis luckly for you lot in england you could do it on the net, (no discount though)

but as i live in scotland there is no shopping on line for ikea here, normal i do everything online (my postman hates me :- " )

and the thing is we had planned to go on thursday for 2 new wordrobes for our bedroom so we can fit the crate in, but when my cousin said dont go go on saturday, i couldnt face going during the day, and i would have had to take the kids (nightmare) so 6am was the best option, and to top it all of they are sapose to be delivering it today so just waiting on the phone call to say its on its way woooooo!!!!

Sounds a big nightmare The Next sale is bad enough but that sounds worse! I was going to go up to Straiton today as well, as I was needing some stuff at Pets at home and Straiton is my nearest, maybe I shall give it a miss as traffic will probably be horrendous with everyone going to Ikea :rant:

Small world lol, Hubby was in IKEA Straiton today and said it was horrendous. He went at lunch time and it wasnt as bad as at 6 this morning. But still pretty busy. Its a shop we tend to avoid at weekends at the best of times but needed something to finish daughters bedroom.

I love ikea but didnt want to brave the sales heres a tip from an old ikea hand. go in just over a week and look in the bargin corner it will be full of 1/2 price stuff that peoepl have bought today thats the wrong size or colour and return next week lol.
