In your opinion how many dogs do u think is enough? How many would u have? Do u keep them outdoors or inside? Do u take them for walks in batches?
) Personally I have four whippets and I dont think I could cope with anymore. They are all kept indoors. I take them out in batches when Im on my own the racers first then the two old non racers. If Peter is with me all the dogs go out together. Mind if I lived ouit in the country and I didnt have to work and had lots of land I would probably have no more than say ten lol
You can only have so many racers before you can't fit them in your car/van to go racing etc. At my house we only have two whippets & a spaniel (all bitches - depending on the weather they're kennelled, because the house was a constant tip with the dogs & kids), but we have 5 whippets (dogs) at my grandads. We're reckoning on maybe having a bitch pup this year & a litter planned for the end of the year.
If i had a decent plot of land i'd have a lot more but then again i'd probably have to give up work to walk them all and have time for two kids.
it took me 10 years to get the go ahead off my mises to get a whippet so im trying now to get another one , its hardwork :sweating: but i reckon 2 is enough with kids indoors
good job you didnt stop at 10 kids and 3 whippets  .
forgot to mention apart from the 9 adults and 4 pups we also have a 4 yr old and an 11 wk old baby.
tony walks the dogs in 2 batches (racers and old fogeys/cripples), and he feeds them twice a day (apart from the pups who are eating for england its just after 1pm and they've had 3 meals already)
paul u cant just have one whippet!! Tell your missus that it needs company etc etc then go onto joejess site and look in geordie poems for a poem --bet u cant just have one- u will see wot I mean, the poem is so TRUE lol
 Michelle how many racers do u have? and how many old fogies and cripples? How many does Tony take out at a time? I only take my 2 no limits out together dont think I could manage anymore with them well they are 5olb and 43lb and its very hard to control them when they see a cat/dog human etc lol
we have 4 old fogeys/cripples(1 lurcher, soapyjoe, hobgoblin and blue monday) and 5 racers(moonpie, stormcloud, red ranger and semi retired are true faith and spooky). tony only has to walk a few hundred yards and we have the canel/moss for the dogs to run around on, luckily not many cats live near us (mmmm wonder why) but they like to have a good look up peoples driveways/gardens just incase a cats lurking.
tony works 4 days so in winter they usually get out for a decent walk twice in the week and weekends and summer they are out everynight (usually an hours walk at a time).
normally where he walks its pretty rare he see's anyone (except vickys grandad ).
i'll probably have the job of lead training the pups till they are big enough to have adventures with the others
I have 4 whippets sometimes to many. a bitch 17lb Sheer Bliss Dog Fastini 22Lb Dog Challenger 53Ib hes only 16 months old and the old fella Rch Jodami hes now over 11years old They are in the house when we are in but sleepin kennels at night. my friend Helen walks them apart from Woody (Jodami) 4 times a week for about 3hours a day and we free run them but not together.I dont think I could get anymore on the sofas as im religated to the floor most of the time as it is.Woody
how many gets walked at a time? I know ive seen at opens some people and they have about 8 all on leads they r all small whippets though not no limiters
I'd walk all ours together coz theyre all really good on the lead but my grandad won't let me go out with mine & his coz he says he's embarrassed we've got so many 7 is nothing compared to some of you lot
