I can't be bothered to do anything today...I'm just not in the mood. I've been out with the boys for an hour or two this morning (a drive out and a walk along some of the Pennine Way), but that's my lot. I've loads of little tasks to do, some gardening, Stanley grooming, ironing (w00t) , to name but a few, but I just can't seem to drag myself away from the PC. Aaagghhh. I know I'll feel a bit better if I set to and tick off at least one of these tasks, but I just can't seem to motivate myself. Luckily I did quite a bit of housework on Friday (it's amazing how much dust accumulates behind the furniture, under radiators, along skirting boards when you've got dogs  ...), and met up with a friend yesterday, so I've not completely wasted my time away this weekend, but today is just not happening -_- . Oh well, day of rest and all that....but I don't half feel guilty. I hate being idle. It doesn't always help that the OH works every other weekend thus leaving me to my own devices I suppose ....but I'm proper bored today. :p Sigh.... :b

What does everyone else do to cure the, "I just can't be bothered today' syndrome?

Excuse the title...it went a bit haywire at the end for some reason....

I've been just the same this weekend. Apart from walking the dogs, I haven't done very much. :-

I have sorted lots of old family photos, but that makes me feel a bit sad and sentimental.

I did watch a DVD last night - The Kite Runner. I had wanted to read the book for ages, but somehow have never got round to buying it (I usually only buy books in charity shops these days).

Sometimes the motivation to do things just seems to disappear for no apparent reason. Hope next weekend is more productive for you, Nicola.

I know exactly what you feel like ........ I think the more tasks you have to do, the less motivated you can become

There were a million and one things I should have been doing this weekend, but the weather has been rubbish (rain all day yesterday) and I get very depressed when it's like that :(

Guess it's just easier to sit at the PC  whilst the lawn becomes a jungle

my oh works every other weekend nichola and he is on nights as from tomorrow for 7 nights and im really not looking forward to it ,so ive no doubt i will be in the same mood as you all week

I can't really blame the weather as it has been quite fair this weekend, and funnily enough when it rains I think to myself...oh well, that means I'll have to stay in and get such and such done instead. I kind of don't mind too much as long as it lets up eventually.

I have just been out and forced myself to do some tidying up in the garden. o:) I do feel a bit better now, although I could wage war on the damn slugs an snails for eating half my plants. My beautiful dahlia is but a few stalks.....

Sorting photos sounds like a good idea.....but that's another rainy day option me thinks. I did watch a DVD this weekend, Terminator 3 (special offer at tescos) ....quite enjoyed it actually. :teehee:

I'll have to go to a few more shows again and just indulge myself watching all those lovely dawgs  Don't tell Fred and Stan ;)

Better go and make the tea.....lasagne...lashings of red wine poured in....now that should help! :-

A lot of my OH's shifts are nights as well and his day shifts are 12 hours long so even when he's not on nights, he doesn't get back until late. You do get a bit fed up at times don't you, and it plays havoc with a joint social life! I make a point of going away one weekend a month when he's on nights now (visit my Mum, bless her), so the house is nice and quiet during the day for him getting his sleep, and I've got some company in the evenings.

Well next time you're at a loose end Nicola, text me - I can always come over and be at a loose end too!!! Should be finished coming over to Shropshire on a Sunday fairly soon :-

I kind of assumed Sunday was your busiest day. :) I'll bear that in mind for future loose end days

I go to the 9.30 service at the moment so free by 11. We don't have an evening service (apart from 1 Sunday a month) so it's always been quite a lazy afternoon/evening. Richard usually falls asleep after lunch as he's exhausted after a very late night preparing and then 3 services in the morning! -_-
