The first at 00.20am and the second at 1.00am. Both are well and feeding at present.

CONGRATULATIONS :p .....Tony and Michelle and of course Hobgoblin.... :D Hope mum and pups are well ,drinks on the house is it??

Well done hobgoblin what are they dogs or bitch's?

mmmmm not quite 2 dogs we went in this morning to find another 2 dogs had been born.

so we have 4 boys 3 particolour and 1 fawn......still have'nt got the bitch but after 2 missed matings we are very lucky to have any pups.

hobgoblin had missed a couple of times and we had tried a new drug from the vets because they had an idea viral herpes was the cause of her infertility......and it appears to have worked :D :*

we kept it quiet because of all the disappointed we had with missed matings and then the disappointment of only having 1 pup when she went to xspell.

she had a scan on december 8th and the vet seemed to have thought she'd lost the pups....as 3 sac's looked empty so we just resigned ourselves to the fact she was sterile. then over xmas she got pretty big so on new years eve tony took her for another scan which deffinately showed 2 pups....and lo and behold we got 4.

they are cuties but im pretty biased.

it appears that the anti herpes drug deffinately worked, i would recommend that anyone who has a bitch miss a few times to try that. the herpes can cause small litters and infertility which is what had happened to us. i think from what the vet said the sucess rate of the drug in america is pretty huge, i think we are the 2nd racing dog in this country to try and its worked both times (w00t)

:p Congratulations 2 Hob Goblin who is the sire? :- "

Well done to all of you, glad everything has gone ok and a added bonus when you woke up this morning cannot be bad, who did she go to michelle, bet you are all chuffed.

the sire is our own soapyjoe, they are both maddison x homebird from different matings. we wanted to carry on the maddison x homebird line and we really wanted another pup out of both of them.

edited to add that the pups are smaller than i expected, i dont think any of the are gonna be over 40lbs. all 4 are the same weight but 1 is'nt as long as the other 3. they are all cuties

michelle do you know the name of the new drug ?

well this litter will be one to watch over the next few years

I dont know the drugs name but i can find out tomorrow :D .

so far we have smooby and elvis for nick names but im gonna have to think of another 2.

i may have to wait till elz has pups before i finally get another bitch.....the dogs are seriously outnumbering bitches at the mo

cinnamen.......the fact they are related doesnt bother me, both my dogs have sound temprament, no faults and both have been excellent racers, so to me it makes sense....and if this litter proves sucessfull i will repeat the mating.

the drug is called eurican herpes vaccine.

it is recommended 1 injection before mating, another injection 7-10 days after mating, a scan at 5-6 wks of pregnancy and if there are pups another injection 2 wks before they are due.

obviously the drug has to be ordered so its a case of planning the mating.

holly didnt have the final injection as the 5 wk scan didnt detect any pups, it was only over xmas we noticed she was a bit fat so we took her for a scan on new years eve which showed deffinately 2 pups, as the vaccine had to be ordered and with the holidays etc we wouldnt have had enough time to have the final injection.

this was'nt such a problem as the scan showed that the pups were alive with no abnormalities so the chances of something going wrong at that late stage was pretty slim.

the viral herpes can give you small litters/bitches missing and miscarriage/absorbing pups. holly had a litter of 3 to stewart, then 1 to xspell then missed twice but on one of the missed pregnancies we had a pregnancy test done which was positive so she could have possibly lost the pups.

we may have struck lucky and she had taken this time but i honestly cant say but next time i come to breed of her i'll deffinately use the herpe vaccine again.

This was a bumper litter for holly (4 dogs lol)!!!!!!!!!

Hiya michelle, :p how are the pups, have you weighed them yet and what race weight do you think they will be :D not that you will be bothered ey

vickys grandad dew clawed them last night (poor little things :( ) the weights are....

pup 1 (called 10 spot) is 434g he's put on 52g since birth

pup 2 (smooby) is 460g he's put on 88g

pup 3 (4 spot) is 496g he's put on a whopping 104g

pup 4 (7 spot) is 424g he's put on 58g

at this stage solo/red ranger (xspell x hobgoblin) weighed a massive 620g, but obviously he was on his own so he gained weight pretty rapidly but his racing weight now is 36lb

at the moment weight wise they are on a par with ella(vickys bitch),amber(moonpie) and tiger(true faith) so i would reckon they'll be between 30-40lb.......but i could be wrong!!!!!!!!

they are all lovely and healthy :D :D (im so proud of them)

OHHH BLESS ...ANY PICS OF THEM YET MICHELLE
