Hilda Meek (of Chancerick Whippets) has died.

Her funeral is today at 11.15 at Salisbury Crematorium.

Don't know how many people on the K9 community forum knew of Hilda, but for those who did..... it would be nice to be thinking of her this morning.

She had one whippet left (Belle) who has gone to a prearranged home where she knows her way around and is allowed to sleep on the bed etc.

When Hilda reported the death of loved dogs in her brilliant magazine "Whippet Times" - she always used to end by saying...

"Go....... with love" - that now seems all there is left to say to Hilda, who was never really the same after Roy died.

Oh, I didn't know that Hilda had died. She will be missed.

Her Ebzan Noudini Beynoir x Chancerick Nimrodel Rosefinch litter produced 3 racing champions and a half coat. Many well known dogs still racing today are descended from that litter. She also gave so much to the whippet community through her magazine and was also responsible for starting the Superstars competition which was later taken up by the WCRA.

RIP Hilda.

She is at the bridge now with the beloved whippets that went before her.

Go with love.
