Hi there everyone,

I'm Natasha and I'm new to the forum. I'm an animal mum to two horses, eighteen chickens and two dogs!
My dogs are Lennie, who is a 4 year old English Springer Spaniel dog, and Poppy my somewhere in-between 2-6 years old rescue Working Cocker Spaniel bitch.

I've joined the forum to broaden my knowledge on rescue dogs and ways that I can help Poppy rehabilitate and enjoy her life to the fullest and of course training her as she is an ex puppy farm breeding bitch, so she knows nothing and has led a very very sad life up until this point. We've had her 2 weeks and she is doing really well.

No she doesn't! shes stuck to me like glue all the time and if she doesn't know where I am she paces the house frantically till she finds me... which is cute and lovely that she feels safe with me, but I do worry that it could become separation anxiety.

She really is a lovely little dog and i just don't understand how people can be so cruel.

Only one of my rescues remained a velcro dog and even he became less firmly attached to me as time went on, in the beginning I couldnt even go to the loo alone!
Give your little girl time and ecourage her to enjoy her freedom.. Im sure once she gets used to the idea she will be ok and of course she has Lennie to help her adjust.

Well my partner had the option of babies or animals and i'm sure you can guess what he chose

She is much better than when i first brought her home - I can leave the room without her following me now but within about 10 mins shes running around looking for me haha.
I'm doing my best and she loves Lennie to pieces though i can't say he's that best pleased on having a new sister to share with - but he's not being horrible which is good.

She's very pretty If she will stay in a room without you for 10 minutes after only 2 weeks I'd say that's brilliant progress already.
