Calling all dog parents!

Do you have a dog? Do you know its breed? if so, I need you!

I am currently studying a BSc Applied Animal Studies and need urgent help. I am doing an undergraduate study in partnership with Dodson & Horrell and am looking at 'The Application of Breed Specific Body Condition Scores in Dogs' which aims to investigate and produce breed specific body condition scores based on those seen by the Pet Food Manufacturer and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association.

To do this I need to collect data on the lengths/ weights of a range of dogs, I have gone to individual kennels and vets to measure dogs but I need a lot more data to make my study worthwhile.

So, I would be extremely helpful if you'd help me. All I need is the measurements of the weight (If possible), length, hip and shoulder circumference, height at withers, chest circumference and waist size to accurately create a body condition score tailored to particular breeds/ body types. I have attached an information pack to aid in the measurement process and to give a more detailed background of the project.

If you would like to send any measurements/ images of your dog you can send said information as a reply to this thread, through direct messaging or through my email 's0082301@students.moulton.ac.uk

Any help would be amazing and I look forward to hearing from you!

Yours faithfully

Hi @DanUndergrad - I’m happy to give this a go!

I have a 10 year old pedigree Labrador that is most likely holding abit of extra holiday weight! Is this still ok?
