Hello from me and my Irish Terrier Grainne

Hi all - I have to admit my reason for joining is to get advice now and then in looking after Grainne- she is coming up to 10 years old and has been diagnosed with heart failure. She is only expected to live for 12-18 months. Of course I’m very happy to offer any advice I can give others in return, but Grainne is our first dog so I’m not that well experienced in dog ownership.
Anyway thank you for letting me join.

But that's what the forum is for! I'm sorry Grainne isn't well. At least you can focus on making her last year or two be as wonderful as possible, and I hope the forum can help with that.

My Jack Russell Tom was diagnosed with heart failure in February this year after thinking he had kennel cough ....after a heart scan we were told 12 /18 mths with medication...he is just 9 years old...we were devastated at first but now we make each day count and I try not to think about it too much ....

Welcome to the Forum. You’ll get sound advice and empathy here. Sorry to read of Grainne’s plight. Hope she enjoys her life to the full. They do get into our hearts and that makes us good mums and dads.
