Hi I'm just new to the forum with my dog Lily who is recovering fro. Tplo surgery. Lots has changed due to coronavirus so I thought I'd get some feedback here!

Hi and welcome - how is Lily doing?

I'm always wary of using polls when it comes to helping with important decisions - you have no idea whether the people voting have any knowledge or experience of the subject. Hopefully people will give their thoughts and reasons in the thread itself. But your first port of call for advice always has to be your vet.

Hi JudyN
Thanks for replying to my post. Tbh the poll thing wasn't part of the original post but for some reason it wouldn't let me post without doing it!
Anyway Lily is 12wks post op on Monday of next week and was due to start hydrotherapy exactly at lockdown so hasn't had any. She's a big dog 34kg and 10yrs old but according to the vet she should be back to normal activity by now but she isn't. She isn't really limping but is very slow and lethargic. The vets are happy but I'm wondering how much progress she would have made with hydro and whether we just have to accept that it's going to take longer. Advice differs regarding length and frequency of walks, on/off leader etc so it's quite tricky! We are working with our dog and going out twice a day for about 30 mins sometimes off the leader and she's OK but not very enthusiastic but that is what she's used to. I just wondered if anyone else had any similar experiences? Thanks

Ah, the poor girl :-( I don't suppose the warm weather is a factor in her slowing down? My dog is also about 34kg and 10, and he really doesn't like the heat.

I've no experience of this, but I do hope she recovers soon.

The heat might be a little bit to do with it, but she's been like this for a while. Thanks for responding, we'll persevere
