Hello there friendly people, i'm new here, sort of, (been snooping around for months) looking for advice, so its about time i Introduced myself and my lovely boy Dude.
We live down in Brighton and I have had Dude for three/four years, after buying him from someone who was keeping him in an awful way....
He's Nine, a little crazy, very nearly blind, but an absolutley brilliant little fella.
He is an absolute bugger to walk, having severe aggression, whilst on the lead, to anything that isn't a whippet or greyhound, so i am constantly on the lookout for any walking buddies, that are willing to put up with a lot of barking for the first few mins.
He was severely agraphobic when i first got him, and as i am gardener, he has had to learn to enjoy being outside, poor thing. I have made many mistakes with him, and didn't understand the extent of his worries when i first got him, but am constantly trying to learn to try and make his life happier. This forum is very useful, and you all give a lot of good advice.
I am amazed at how something so wimpy, can also be so brave at times, some of his adventures though terrifying to me, also make me quite proud of him. I had only previously had experiance with mutt type dogs, (family dogs as a child), and whippets are a little different eh?
He has my whole family and all of my clients wrapped around his finger/paw, and gets truly pampered; he is currently working on my mother (i'm home for crimbo), who has had the audacity to put peas in his bowl, he is avoiding it like it is on fire, and giving her the death stare...
hopefully i have managed to upload his picture here....
I look forward to learning more from you all
Hannah and Dude xx
