Hi I wonder if anyone is able to recommend a head collar to help with my steam train walking BC Billy? I've tried a couple of different body harnesses but none made any difference. We are trying our best to learn loose lead walking but my shoulder and neck need a break!
I'm not sure which to go for between the Gentle Leader and Halti Optifit.
Thank you in advance

I used a Gentle Leader. The woman in the pet shop said that the different styles suit different dogs - I didn't try the Halti but the Gentle Leader was a good fit. If possible, try before you buy. And good luck with the pulling!

BTW, have you tried a harness with the lead fastened to the front? I haven't used one, but in theory whenever the dog pulls he gets pulled round to face the opposite direction to where he wanted to go.

Oh yes I've tried one of those harnesses. Didn't make the slightest bit of difference!
I tried gentle leaders in the past with my old beardies but they hated them and would refuse to walk in them. Just from some of the reviews the Optifit has the extra straps to help stop it riding up.

Having tried several types (my friend runs a charity shop with a dog section so lots come in) the basic halti is the only thing that helps with my girl though even that doesn't stop her completely
