Hi

I have two dogs that are both having poop issues which i think ae related to a recent ood change. They where both on james wellbeloved dry food prior to the change, however, both of them lost interest in their food and i was throwing away more than they was eating each meal time. I was time to buy more food so i opted to get them wainwraites wet food as these seemed to have the highest meat content and the least fillers. I attempted to swap over gentle but underestimated how much dry food they had and ended up making a full switch over in just 3 days instead of the 7 - 10 days it should have taken. Since then my female is having normal size poops but they are more yellow in colour and are coated in mucus. whereas the boy poop sizes has reduced a lot and they are now more pale in colour and hard/crumbly. I watched him poop today and as it hit the floor it broke into crumbes!

It's worth a mention that my girl is a puppy (on puppy wainwraites food) and is 6 months old. My boy is 12 years old ( on adult food).

They both enjoy this food, nothing is left in the bowl they are licked clean. But i'm concerned about the poop situation.

Any info, recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you xx

I would recommend you speak with a vet because crumbly poo can be a sign of constipation. It can be a sign of dehydration, lack of exercise or a blockage of some sort.

Yes definitely see the vet!
How long ago did you switch? It can sometimes take a week or so for dogs to get used to a new diet, mine did when I switched and I did it gradually over 8 days. Her poops were very soft for about a week after that but it did settle down.
