can anybody recomend a good grooming brush or glove im using a short nylon bristle one at the moment but more comes of on your trouser leg than on the brush..............cheers.

I rarely use a brush to groom my Whippets, I find the best thing to use is a pair of 'Marigolds'(or any washing up gloves). You would be surprised how much hair will be removed by using them & they are not expensive!

Because I reaaaaly hate to have doghair on furniture, I use rubberglove, brush and then I wipe the dog with a towel.

When my whippet starts loosing hair, I firstly go and wash her, it seems to loose up the old hair. When the dog is dry I brush her against the hair. Then I use the rubber glove and then I wipe the dog with a towel. I repeat the grooming session for a couple of days. Of course I wash the dog only once. The shedding is over very quickly.

I always use a cheap brush to groom my Whippets, For this Brush, One side has a plastic hair brush and the other has soft metal pins. The heads on the brush were created by experts to provide comfortable brush-outs for even the most finicky pet. You will be surprised how much hair will be removed by using such a Grooming Brush.

Wendy (Chelynnah) told me about them and my boys love it., Sparky had the finest coat of any whippet I have known so has very few hairs to remove but he just seems to like the massage effect, Dylan is a bit more hairy and it removes his loose hair and in addition he loves the massage effect. They are very similar to a glove my dad used for years but that has finally disintegrated so I was delighted to find these via Wendy.

We have like a rubber glove type groomer with rubber nodes rather then bristles, it has no fingers, just a thumb hole. It's really good and if you brush daily or every other day the coat gleams and our whippy then doesn't lose much hair. Great for a huby with allergies
