Finally, yesterday, I picked up my new puppy. She was quite exhausted after the long car ride home last night, but she had a little meal and slept in her bed next to mine all night. Her spirits are up today, and she is settling in nicely.

Her name is Guille, which is Norwegian (dialect) meaning "Gold" and used as a term of endearment - sounds completely ridiculous to most locals, but I think it suits her perfectly. Best of all, it is impossible to utter in a harsh voice.

Sorry about the quality of the pics - I am in dire need of some lessons (and perhaps a better camera).

I'm just over the moon at the moment

Gorgeous!
How is her name pronounced?

Oh, I'm gonna have to freshen up my knowledge of phonetics and get back to you on that one :- "

Something like Goo-leh with a palatalized (sp?) L - if that means anything to you (does not exist in English as far as I know - it is an L produced with the middle or back part of the tongue pressed against the palate, rather than the "normal" L, produced with the tip of the tongue - to add to the confusion, it is a tongue-in-cheek kind of name ;) )

Lovely puppy  What is her breeding?

Lida

Thank you. She is from Hjortronblomma, sired by Carry On Pastrami (who some might know as the sire of Adagio Love Supreme) out of Hjortronblommas Gin Kelly.

Pictures and pedigree are on the breeders' website. Here is a direct link to the puppies' page in case your Swedish is not that good ;) Birkonbrae True E'Nuff and B. Sweet Talking Guy are full brothers, so the combination is a moderate linebreeding.

As you can see, it was a big litter! When I visited them at five weeks, they were almost impossible to distinguish from one another, but Guille's markings and lighter brindling made her stand out a little bit. I'm so happy she was available!

What a sweetie   Very best of luck with her. :luck: :luck: :luck:

No wonder she is so beautiful! I love her parents. Lucky you!
