Joyful reunion for dog and owner

Thomas Hutton was reunited with Belle after six months

A Jack Russell which went missing six months ago has been reunited with her owner after being found 300 miles from their Tyneside home.

Belle is believed to have been taken by people travelling through the area, after getting out through an open gate.

Her owner, Thomas Hutton, did everything he could to track her down, but without success.

She was traced after a vet in Ipswich found the dog's microchip, and is back with her overjoyed owner in Westerhope.

'Electric shock'

Mr Hutton, who was devastated by the loss, put up missing posters, and even registered her on a missing dog website.

Belle had been sold on and her new owner, 310 miles away, took her into the vet to be spayed.

The discovery that this had already been done prompted the vet to search for a microchip.

Mr Hutton said: "It was like an electric shock going through the body, just excitement at the thought of getting her back again."

He added that if his local vet had not suggested a microchip, he would have lost Belle for good.

Fantastic news - and from my area too .....

There's hope for me being reunited with Jesse yet then - this story has renewed my hope- Thanks.

:D brilliant news, must be like a dream come true after so much time, the 'new owner' must be a bit upset but anyone with a heart would understand that the dog must go home to its true owner, pity dogs can't talk to tell their tale

Lovely to have a happy ending. :) :) :huggles:
