On sunday my son Ben (bpmoore on the odd occasions he comes on here) competes in his first kickboxing tournament. It is a small local competion but Ben has only been kick boxing for a year. His coach thinks he could do well depending on who he draws for each round. He will be fighting children who have been fighting for a lot longer than him.

As it is also his 14th birthday on Sunday OH thinks we will spend the day first at the competion and the rest of the day at the accident unit  .His advantage over other kidsis that he is now 5foot 10 tall and as arms and legs that go on for ever even the men that he trains with struggle to get him withou being first hit them selves

GOOD LUCK BEN

Just got back in we had a good day although Ben didn't get placed

In the 12-16 years there was 5 in the class and unfortunately Ben was drawn against a brown belt He lost 2-5 .We were pleased with that at least he'd managed to score a couple of points against him the Ben's friend Brett fought the brown belt in the final of the class and won.

Ben then went in the mens juniors for men with grades 1 and 2 so they were on the same grade as him. There was 6 in his class and they all dwarfed him.Which did he draw the biggest of the lot he was more of a mountain than a man. Although Ben scored a few points against him the man was just pushing him all over Ben didn't stand a chance

Ben thoroughly enjoyed his day and came away with a medal even though he didn't get a trophy

it was a great experience for him , well done ben and happy birthday! xx tanya blue and the gang xx :huggles:
