I hope to get my first golden retriever puppy but am not sure how to go about this. Can anyone tell me where I go to start looking for a puppy from a reliable breeder?
Thank you.

A good place to start is the golden retriever breed club

https://thegoldenretrieverclub.co.uk

Also to avoid congenital health problems, make sure the breeder has tested at the leadt hips, elbows and eyes.

I would recommend a breeder certified by the kennel club. I don’t recommend buying off preloved/pets4homes just for the reasons that people could scam you via a deposit on the dog or paying full for a non-kennel club dog, but the owner makes it out as if the dog is coming with papers. Also Labradors are known to live 10-12 years, but have health problems such as: patellar luxation, Canine hip dysplasia, Canine elbow and shoulder dysplasia, muscular dystrophy and a few more health problems. Have you ever considered a rescue dog? Or rescue Labrador?

Pros:

They are very friendly

Great with children

Full of energy

Cons:

Need lots of exercise

Training will take time

They can get separation anxiety if you’re out all day {what is your daily routine?}

They love to chew things
