Having never given blood before, as I'm too squeamish.....I have to say that I'm proud of my OH. He was awarded a certificate and badge yesterday when he went to donate blood. It was his tenth time of blood letting!

He's also works as an ambulance technician and volunteers his spare time with our local mountain rescue.....! NO wonder I don't see much of him sometimes :- " ....but I am very proud of him. :huggles:

I think he is brilliant Nicola tell him from me....  :)

Well you can tell him a MASSIVE thankyou from me - that I owe my life to people like him that have donated blood. I had a stroke, DVTS and a pulmonary embolism - and massive hemorrage after I had my son six years ago. If it wasnt for donated blood my children wouldnt have a mother. :huggles: It's ten pints of blood - but that blood will have made the difference between survival or not to real people with real lives.

THANKYOU

well done to your OH,i use to be a donor and gave 22 times, unfortunatley i had to give up due to a low blood count every time i gave it,i took them long enough to find it out  .

well worth doing though and i didnt hurt one bit

Thanks everyone on behalf of my OH :)

Good grief HopeRosie  ...what an awful experience! But it's good to know how one helps out in the end

Trish.....22 times  ...did you get a gold medal? You certainly deserved one. (w00t)

I've been known to faint at the sight of blood, so I'll never be a medal contender in the blood letting stakes I'm afraid. :b
