Fussy dog… Which kibble?

Hi all,

My little miniature schnauzer is the fussiest little sod.

His kibble is James wellbeloved, but I’ve tried so many - and he just won’t eat it. He eats is when he “has to”. When no chicken or beef has been added to it.

I would like him to enjoy his kibble, and when it’s put down - eat it all up.

I’ve tried wet foods, quality ones - but I found none he’ll eat.

So a high quality dry kibble he likes, that I can just add chicken to would be perfect.

Are you open to a semi dry? It's softer than dry kibble and the different texture might help. I use Platinum, they will send you a sample before you buy. And (dog nerd, TMI perhaps) it does have quite a strong flavour which might be more tempting.

I tried the sample pack from platinum - and my dog loves it!! So I ordered a small bag of the beef and potatoes to give it a bit more of a try.

I don’t want this to sound like a sales pitch - but I honestly have tried LOADS of other quality dry/wet foods, and this is the first time he seems to have liked something.

I was considering trying raw food, but I didn’t like the hassle of it.

I'm not going to try to convert you, because you've found an excellent dog food that you and your dog are happy with, but once you've got your head around the basics it really isn't any hassle. My dog has a chicken carcasse and a portion of mince (which comes in a mixture of varieties) each day, and it really is as easy as getting a day's portion out of the freezer each morning and doling it out. No preparing, cutting, mixing or anything. (I'll admit it would be trickier if you had a large dog and a small freezer.)

So if your dog does go off the Platimum, bear in mind that raw can be really easy and convenient.
