Fred Visits The Kissing Stones

Took these photos on Sunday, and thought I would post them. Went for a walk on Bleaklow. The name does pretty much describe the moors around this part of the Peak District, although I love them for for their bleakness.

Here's an attempt at a landscapey picture. Not sure what these plants are called but they usually grow in boggy areas:

A little bit off the Pennine Way path that crosses Bleaklow are these odd shaped stones.....called the Kissing Stones. Wonder why?

I can see why they're called that. Do they do magical things for your fertility if you pass through them? If so, keep the doggies well away! (w00t)
 
Lovely as usual Nicola - those dogs expressions :- " :lol: Love those rocks - very unusual. :thumbsup: Is that Fred just under the rocks on the firt pic - can just make him out. (Ha ha Elizabeth - Love on the rocks eh?? :lol:
