Over past couple weeks I've caught the dog nibbling something in the garden maybe 2-3x but when I've removed said item it's always looked like something mushy/brown so I've presumed it's some animal poop or fur ball or something. Anyway today she's at it again so I've took the thing away but it was an intact dead mouse!

I don't know if she's catching them and killing them or if she's finding them as there's lots of strays round here. But do I need to be worried or on the look out for anything?

My only concern would be if someone is putting out poison for them. I'm not sure what you could do about that though, or how you can tell - could you tell if it was fresh, or still warm?

It must've been fresh as it was at the top of the garden and I was out there clearing up after the hedges had been done. It definitely wasn't there 30mins prior.

As JudyN says - shouldn't pose a problem. Swap for a treat so he doesn't get into the habit of swallowing them. But if he does, it doesn't really matter.

It could matter if the mice have been poisoned. There could be a secondary accumulative effect. Many rodenticides present a secondary poisoning risk to animals that hunt or scavenge dead corpses.

I lost one of my dogs 20 year ago through rat poison, not nice, she fought hard for three days but sadly lost , r.i.p. Sadie
