Scruples Whippet Rescue has been asked to help to find a home for Poppy, a beautiful and very friendly 7 month old lurcher girl. I went to visit her today and took Poacher, my lurcher with me to check her out 
Scruples would not normally be able to help with rehoming lurchers but this was a contact from someone who is already on our homing list and we felt that an exception was necessary, given the circumstances.
She was bought as a Christmas present for two young children with learning difficulties and, it goes without saying, has become far too much for the owner and whilst she is loved, she has received no training and is a very excitable pup at the moment.
Nothing that a decent amount of exercise and established boundaries won't sort out and, on top of that, she is one of the most athletic and attractive lurchers I have seen in a while :thumbsup:
She is about 21"tts at the moment (the pictures are with Poacher who is just on 21"tts) but her knuckles indicate that she may grow another couple of inches. She had a "whippet" mum but we have no knowledge of dad as she came from travellers I should think there is definitely collie in her and probably a tad of deerhound (giving her the broken coat) and maybe some more whippet or possibly beddie??? :unsure:
She is a truly lovely dog and very friendly. No bad habits, other than being understandably excitable, and is really a blank page waiting for someone to write on her
